We are now looking for an environmental specialist who wants to take a comprehensive approach to our environmental work and contribute to achieving our goals – both statutory and our own high standards.

As an environmental specialist, you will be an important part of our group-wide department within HR & sustainability functions. You will be part of the Sustainability and Work Environment group, which means close collaboration with colleagues in sustainability strategy and work environment issues. The position reports to the sustainability manager and is located in Gothenburg or Stockholm, with the possibility of hybrid work.
About the role As an environmental specialist, you will be our central contact person in environmental matters and responsible for coordinating and developing the group-wide environmental work. You will work closely with environmental coordinators, chemical managers, managers, and other key personnel in the organization. The role involves both strategic work and advisory with direct operational support, with a strong focus on collaboration. To succeed in the role, deep competence and practical experience in the environmental field are required, as you will become the obvious expert and advisor throughout the organization.
Main responsibilities:
Drive environmental issues in the business together with the organization – primarily includes issues regarding chemical management, waste management, and energy but also other environmental matters and ensure that environmental requirements according to legislation and standards are met.
Develop and manage governing documents within the environmental field and monitor new laws and regulations and translate requirements into practice.
Support the business in implementing routines and working methods and provide support in permit issues, environmental reporting, and contact with supervisory authorities.
Inform and educate environmental contact persons and managers, as well as be responsible for group-wide internal environmental training.
Lead and coordinate environmental group meetings, internal and external environmental audits, and projects related to environmental work – including chemicals, waste, and energy.
Follow up on environmental deviations and report the fulfillment of environmental work goals to management and suggest improvement measures.
Who are you?
Requirements:
Relevant university degree in the environmental field.
Several years of practical experience in environmental work and management systems.
Good knowledge of ISO 14001 and experience in implementation.
Experience in audit methodology.
Documented experience in leading environmental projects at a strategic level.
Deep understanding of environmental legislation and practical application, i.e., the ability to translate requirements into practical solutions.
Experience in group-wide environmental strategy and contact with supervisory authorities.
Experience in issues related to chemicals, waste, and energy.
Strong communication skills and experience in collaborating broadly within the organization.
